RED HILL – Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24), along with local legislators, awarded School Safety grants to North Penn and Souderton Area School Districts. North Penn received $305,659 while Souderton Area Schools received a $479,398 grant.
“These grants are a crucial investment in our children’s futures” said Pennycuick. “The funding will directly support increased security measures across both districts, including additional security personnel, a new police vehicle, and upgraded fire alarm systems.”
In addition, funds will be utilized to increase support of mental health services for students. The grants are administered by the School Safety and Security Committee (SSSC) which falls under the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).
