HARRISBURG – Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) and Rep. Milou Mackenzie (R-Montgomery) announced that multiple projects across Montgomery County have received grant funding from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account (LSA) Statewide program.
The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects concerning the public interest, community improvements, and economic development.
Sen. Pennycuick and Rep. Mackenzie advocated for and worked together to secure funding for the following projects:
- $56,915 for the Upper Montgomery Joint Authority to repair and improve the pump station in Upper Hanover Township.
- $37,500 for Upper Hanover Township to conduct a study of the sewer management system at Perkiomen Heights.
- $77,284 for Marlborough Township to restore the nineteenth century barn at Finland Road Park, which serves as a storage facility for the Township’s public works equipment.
- $67,089 for the Upper Montgomery Joint Authority to rehabilitate approximately fifty-five manholes located across Upper Hanover Township.
“I’m happy to see these projects received funding through the LSA program,” said Pennycuick “Public infrastructure improvements such as these play a vital role in ensuring local governments have the resources they need to operate effectively and serve their residents.”
“I am extremely grateful that the Statewide LSA grants are being awarded in Montgomery County to benefit many residents in the 131st District,” said Mackenzie. “The improvements to our infrastructure are very necessary and will bring much-needed relief to our local governments.”
