Senator Pennycuick to Host Scam Jam Event in Boyertown

HARRISBURG – Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24), Chair of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee, is once again bringing her popular Scam Jam event to the community, partnering with the Pennsylvania Department of Banking & Securities, Eastern Berks Regional Police, Berks County District Attorney’s Office, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, and AARP Pennsylvania. The event will take place on March 20, 2025, at 9:30 AM at Boyertown Area Multi-Service (200 Spring Street, Boyertown).

As chair of the Senate Communications and Technology Committee, Senator Pennycuick has seen firsthand how rapidly evolving technology is being exploited by scammers. She regularly hosts Scam Jam events to help Pennsylvanians recognize and prevent fraud, providing critical resources to keep residents informed and protected. Experts from state and local agencies will share insights into the latest scams, red flags to watch for, and practical steps to safeguard personal and financial information.

“Scammers are getting smarter, but so can you,” said Senator Pennycuick. “With technology playing a bigger role in fraud schemes, it’s more important than ever to understand how scammers operate and how to protect yourself. I host these events regularly to give Pennsylvanians the tools they need to stay one step ahead.”

Attendees will gain firsthand knowledge from fraud prevention professionals and leave with tools to guard against common scams, including identity theft, phishing schemes, and financial fraud.

This free educational event is open to the public and attendees are encouraged to register in advance by visiting www.senatorpennycuick.com or by calling Senator Pennycuick’s Office at (215) 541-2388.
