LIMERICK – Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) today welcomed more than 130 nonprofit leaders from Berks and Montgomery counties to a grant seminar focused on connecting organizations with vital state funding opportunities. The event, held in partnership with the Tri-County Community Network (TCN), aimed to simplify the grant process and expand access to available resources.
“Our nonprofits play a critical role in our communities—whether it’s providing food assistance, supporting survivors of domestic violence, or preserving our local history,” said Sen. Pennycuick. “We are incredibly fortunate to have so many dedicated organizations serving our region. Navigating the grant process can be challenging, and I’m glad today’s seminar offered guidance to help them secure the funding they deserve.”
Holly Parker, Executive Director of TCN, emphasized the value of collaboration in helping nonprofits thrive. “We’re proud to work with Senator Pennycuick to shine a light on the many grant opportunities—both public and private—that are available to support the essential work of our nonprofit community,” said Parker. “Together, we’re building stronger, more connected communities.”
During the seminar, a funding and resource specialist from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania presented an overview of grant programs at the state, federal, and foundation levels. Attendees gained insight into eligibility requirements, application processes, and funding levels. Grant opportunities span several state agencies, including the Departments of Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources, Community and Economic Development, Emergency Management, General Services, Historical and Museum Commission, and Transportation.
Nonprofit representatives left with valuable tools to pursue funding and better serve their missions.
