HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania State Senator and U.S. Army Combat Veteran Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) has announced updated details for her 4th annual Women Veterans Day Commemoration, an initiative honoring the service, sacrifice and contributions of women who have served in the military.
This year’s ceremony will be held Wed., June 10, at 10 a.m., in the Ryan Office Building Atrium of the Pennsylvania State Capitol in Harrisburg.
Pennycuick, who sponsored the legislation establishing June 12 as Women Veterans Day in Pennsylvania, continues to highlight the vital role women play in the armed forces and ensure their stories are recognized across the commonwealth.
“The Women Veterans Day Commemoration is an important opportunity to recognize the courage, dedication and sacrifice of Pennsylvania’s women who have served in uniform,” Pennycuick said. “As a veteran myself, I am proud to continue this annual tradition and honor the women whose service has strengthened our military and our nation.”
In conjunction with the event, a virtual display featuring Pennsylvania women veterans will be available online beginning Monday, June 8, at www.senatorpennycuick.com.
