POTTSTOWN – Today, Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) and Rep. Joe Ciresi (D-146) issued the following statement regarding Tower Health’s announcement that it is reducing its workforce in Pottstown.
“Today’s announcement by Tower Health is deeply concerning for the employees at Pottstown Hospital and our surrounding community,” said Pennycuick. “We have been in constant communication with Tower Health who has assured us that they remain committed to serving Pottstown and the neighboring community for the foreseeable future. We are committed to working with Pottstown Hospital to ensure that residents continue to have access to high quality health care in our neighborhood.”
Ciresi said, “We need to do everything possible to maintain Pottstown Hospital as a viable institution that serves the medical needs of our region’s patients. Their dedicated nurses and staff provide emergency and intensive care, cancer treatment, outpatient endoscopy, and much more. Our local economy and community would struggle to absorb another major layoff.”
