RED HILL – This week, Sen. Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) visited several libraries and non-profits in her district to announce grants she secured in support of community services and cultural organizations.
“I’m thrilled to provide state resources in support of these important community organizations, including the General Carl Spaatz National USAAF Museum and other cultural institutions,” said Pennycuick. “Our libraries are more than just sources of books and information—they are vibrant community spaces where families can come together to learn, participate in programs, and discover wonderful stories. They play an invaluable role in strengthening our communities.”
Pennycuick added, “Ensuring that our most vulnerable neighbors have access to nourishment and a warm, welcoming place to turn is a critical service. The Open Link is truly a treasure in our community, and I’m proud to support the important work they do every day.”

- The Open Link received a $45,000 grant to support the Code Blue Shelter and food pantry at their Pennsburg facility,
“Thanks to the efforts of Senator Pennycuick, The Open Link can continue our critical programs and services, such as our food pantry, emergency support for utilities and rent, and the Code Blue shelter, to best support our community members in need.” said Marianne Lynch, Executive Director. “In a time where we are seeing significant increases in requests for assistance, this investment will help provide comprehensive resources to our agency’s participants directly impacting issues like hunger, homelessness, and senior isolation. We are so grateful to Senator Pennycuick and the Department of Community & Economic Development for their dedication to our Valley community.”
- Boyertown Community Library received a $50,000 grant for facility renovations and ADA improvements.
“The Boyertown Community Library would like to thank Senator Tracy Pennycuick and her staff for their support and assistance. This grant funding will be used for our much-needed restroom ADA improvements. These renovations will ensure every community member can access and use the library facilities with ease.” said Sami Jo Trout, Library Director. “This project has been in the planning stages for several years, and we are so grateful to now be able to move forward.”
- The General Carl Spaatz National USAAF Museum received a $50,000 grant for facility renovations.
Col. Keith Seiwell, CEO stated: “The General Spaatz Museum is very grateful and wishes to express it thanks to Senator Pennycuick and her staff in making this grant possible. This grant will enable us to meet the requirements set forth in our five-year plan and will be critical in terms of sustainment, longevity and allowing the General Spaatz Museum to accomplish its mission, which is telling the story, especially to our young people, about the contributions of local men and women to victory during WWII. It’s important that our youth know of the continued sacrifices born by America in the defense of liberty and freedom of not only our nation, but freedom loving people throughout the world.”

- Perkiomen Valley Library received a $50,000 grant for new equipment and furniture purchases.
Meredith Glodek, President of the Library’s Board stated: “Perkiomen Valley Library extends its sincere appreciation to Senator Pennycuick and her office for their support in helping the library secure a Keystone Community Initiatives Grant. This funding will provide for the purchase of new shelving and furnishings throughout the children’s section, significantly enhancing the space for young patrons and their families. These improvements will create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment that encourages children to read, learn, explore, and participate in library programs. The renovated children’s area will strengthen the library’s ability to serve the community while providing an inviting destination for families and helping to attract new patrons. Perkiomen Valley Library is grateful for this investment, which will have a lasting impact on the children and families it serves.”
- Upper Perkiomen Valley Library received a $100,000 grant for facility renovations and ADA improvements.
“This grant money will bring much needed assistance to facilitate equitable and inclusionary structural additions to the building, ensuring that the library is accessible to everyone in the community.” said Christine Bates, Branch Manager.
