RED HILL: Senator Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) today announced more than $3 million in grant funding to expand electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across communities in Montgomery County.
The grants, funded through the federal National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, will support the installation of new EV charging stations at public facilities and private businesses throughout southeastern Pennsylvania.
Three applicants within the 24th Senatorial District received funding:
- Two Farms Inc.: $1,342,874 to install eight DC fast-charging ports at Royal Farms locations in Collegeville and North Wales.
- Voltpost, Inc.: $316,649 to install 18 on-street Level 2 charging ports in North Wales and Norristown.
- Xura Energy Holdings Partners LLC: $1,800,000 to install 12 DC fast-charging ports at Upland Square in Pottstown and Centre Square Commons in Blue Bell.
“I’m thrilled to see more than $3 million in federal funding being invested in Montgomery County’s electric vehicle infrastructure,” said Pennycuick. “These projects will support local economic development and ensure our communities are well-positioned to meet growing transportation needs. It’s always encouraging to see federal tax dollars return to our region and deliver tangible benefits for residents and businesses.”
Community Charging Funding is available through four regional funding rounds: Southeastern, Eastern, Central, and Western. While regional transportation planning organizations identify priority areas for investment, any publicly accessible location within a region is eligible to apply.
Senator Pennycuick also encouraged municipalities, businesses, and other eligible organizations in Berks County to explore opportunities through the Community Charging Fund. Applications for the Eastern Region (Berks) funding round are due by March 12, 2027.
