
HARRISBURG – Senator Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) announced today that she helped secure over $2.4 million in grants for transportation improvement projects across Montgomery County. The grants were awarded through the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Multimodal Transportation Fund.
“I’m happy to support investments back into the 24th Senate District for essential transit projects such as these.” said Pennycuick. “This funding will play a critical role in restoring and upgrading our most heavily traveled roads, bridges, and trails. These improvements will enhance safety, reduce congestion, and promote safety in our communities.
The projects receiving funding are as follows:
- Red Hill Borough – $210,036 for the Northwest Neighborhood Multimodal Improvements Project
- Schwenksville Borough – $77,283 for Pedestrian Safety Upgrades at Church and Main Street
- Douglass Township, Montgomery County – $232,925 for the County Line Road Bridge Replacement Project
- Green Lane Borough – $191,167 for the PA 29 Perkiomen Trailhead Improvement Project
- Limerick Township – $550,000 for Phase 2 of the Lightcap Road Roadway Improvement Project
- Skippack Township – $1,000,000 for the Perkiomen Creek Road Bridge Replacement Project
- Upper Hanover Township – $175,335 for the Schoolhouse Road and SR 663 Radius Improvement Project
The Multimodal Transportation Fund (the “program”) provides grants to encourage economic development and ensure that a safe and reliable system of transportation is available to the residents of this commonwealth. The Multimodal Transportation Fund program was established under Section 2104(a)(4) of the Act of November 25, 2013 (P.L. 974, No. 89) (74 Pa.C.S. § 2104(a)(4)), as amended.
