HARRISBURG – Senator Tracy Pennycuick (R-24) and Representative Matthew Bradford (D-70) announced today that the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST) has approved Aqua PA, Inc. for a $6,830,000 grant to remediate per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination at the Meyers, Cranberry, and Rahns Well Stations in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County.
“Addressing PFAS contamination requires strong partnerships and substantial funding,” said Pennycuick. “I’m grateful to PENNVEST for investing in solutions that will safeguard our communities and environment from these harmful substances.”
“Everyone deserves access to clean water, and this project will provide much-needed treatment upgrades to prevent contamination and protect the community’s drinking water,” said Bradford. “I’m pleased that the Shapiro administration is investing in this important water safety project.”
Established through Act 16 of 1988, PENNVEST is a financing authority that provides low-cost financial assistance to address water, wastewater, stormwater, and non-point source pollution problems that impact public health, safety, the environment, regulatory compliance, and economic development.
